[G]with a little old driver so lively and [D]quick.
This was

Saint

[D]More rap[G]id than eagles his[A] reindeer the[D]y came,
and he whistled and shouted and [Bm]called them
by [D]name.

Dasher, now
Dancer, now

Vix[D]en,

Comet,

Cupid,
O
Donner and
Blitzen,
To the top of the [F#m]porch,
to the top of the [D]wall,

[D]dash away all!
And then the [G]children heard
on the roof
The prancing [Bm]and pawing
of each little [G]hoof,
As they blinked in surprise and
turned right around.
Down [A]the chimney,
[G]Saint
Nicholas [Bm]came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur,
from his head to his [G]foot,
an[Bm]d his clothes were [D]all dirty
with ashes and soot.
A [G]bundle of toys he had flung on his [Bm]back,
with [G]candy canes poking right [D]out of his [A]pack.
His eyes, [Bm]how they twinkled!
His [D]dimples, how merry!
[G]His cheeks were like roses,
his nose like a [A]cherry.
His happy little [Bm]mouth was drawn up like a bow,
[D]and the beard on his chin was as white [A]as the snow.
His boots were [G]deep black, [D]so white were his teeth,
[Bm]with his white and red hats on [G]his head like a wreath.
[A]He had a broad face and a [D]little round belly [Bm]that
shook when he laughed like [G]a bowl full of jelly.
[A]He was chubby and [Bm]plump, a jolly old [D]elf,
and the children they [Bm]laughed in [G]spite of
themselves.
[A]A wink of his eye and a twist [Bm]of his head,
from this jolly elf they [D]had nothing to dread.
[A]He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
and filled all the stockings, then
turned with a jerk,
and laying his finger on the side of his nose, and giving a n[D]od
And up the chimney he rose.
He [G]sprang to his sleigh,
[D]to his team gave a whistle,
An[G]d away they all flew,
like the fluff on a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim,
as he [D]flew out of sight,
Happy
Christmas to [G]all, [D]and to all a good night!
