[Verse 1] [G]Thanks for joining us for[D] the Tho[G]mas Rhett "Life [Em]Changes" album release special On [C]Big [G]Machine [Em]Radio We are playing all the songs off the [C]album for you, and I gotta be honest, [G]there are some song on [Verse 2] [Em]here that maybe some [C]people might think "Oh, you [G]know, [Em]that was a curve ball or The sound of [C]that, maybe," this [G]one actually kinda caught me [D]by surprise Because it's [C]perhaps one of [G]the more country sounding songs On [D]here, [C]in terms [G]of fiddle and throwback It reminded me of kinda [D]Alabama [C]thr[G]owback "Drink A Little Beer", which [D]features your dad on there And he also [C]had a hand in writ[G]ing that, so I [Em]mean talk to me about this song and [C]the fact that In some ways, [G]I mean it's [Em]al most like blending his 90s career With where you [C]are [G]today [Verse 3] [Em]Yeah, I think it's hilarious that I think it kinda [C]proves that we've curved [G]out enough of [Em]a lane in this genre For that [C]to be the weirdest song [G]on the record (It kinda shocked me) I think like That's such a funny, and I think [D]that's why I cut it 'cause I think I [C]love just making [G]people be like, "Wow" Like "I was def[D]initely not expect[C]ing that" And this [G]is one of those ones that I think, I know [D]for a fact when people hear this record When [C]they get to that song [G]they're gonna think, "I cannot believe [D]that this track [C]is [G]on [D]here"[C][G] And so, it's [D]nice to [C]just div[G]e back in to what I grew up listening to And [D]actually cut an original song that has such an ode to like 70s and [G]80scountry And especially to have my dad, who that's [D]when he grew up [G]Uhm, to have a song like [C]that with him on it That [G]basically describes why he loves country music in the [D]first place [C]And so the song is [G]cool, and the song is super catchy And I think it'll be a really [D]great song live, but more so than that [C]It's just, you kno[G]w, as old as I get I can always [D]say that me and my [C]dad sang a song together on my [G]re cord [Verse 4] Well, and I was gonna [G]ask, the end is kinda fun And some[D]body described [C]to me, "Oh, wait the [G]Alan Jackson moment's gonna be coming" So [D]did you guys just [C]sorta leave the tape rolling or was that planned? [G]Like, "Hey, we're just gonna riff at the end of this song" [D]Well, you know when the song ends it [Verse 5] [C]goes into that [G]double time section at the end Which is such as staple of that time or period And also was the guy talking over the outro [Em]And [G]so l[D]ik[C]e we[G] decid[D]ed that we were [C]just kinda gonna [G]go [D]bac[C]k and fort[G]h, and You know jab at each [D]other a [C]little bit, and it was [G]just really, really fun Yeah, I loved your dad's line, "I taught you [D]everything [C]you know, [G]but not everything I kno[D]w"[C] Exactly, I'm pretty sure he stole [G]that from someone I'm sure he did, but he'll [D]never [C]tel[G]l you who Well, [D]again [C]it's called "Drink A Little Beer" [G]it features Thomas's dad Rhett Akins And it is on Big Machine Radio
