[Verse 1] [G]I will start now by introducing you to the instruments that we will play. Firstly, the tabla, [Em]sometimes called the d[Gm]arabuka, [G]is a pear -shaped drum with a fish skin [D]stretched onto it. The shell is normally made [G]out of ceramic or terracotta, but the modern version is [F#m]made out of a cast [A]-iron -aluminium al[D]loy with [G]a plastic head that is tunable and unaffected by the change of [D]humidity, unlike [G]the fish skin. Next I want to introduce you to the [F#m]mazhar and the [G]dof. The mazhar is [Gm]an enormous tambour[D]ine with a donkey skin. [G]The dof is also a [F#m]mazhar but without [G]any cymbals. Now we have the raq. The raq is a small tambourine with a [F]fish skin and spe[G]cially well [C#m]-tuned cymbals. [G]It used to be the percussion instrument in Egyptian [D]Taqt. [G]Now we have the Dahalla. The Dahalla is the bass tabla. [D]It has a goat [G]skin and is about two and a half times the size of a normal tabla. Last we have the Sagat. The Sagat are [D]hand cymbals made out of [F#m]copper nickel alloy, [G]four in a set, two to [D]each hand. [G]The larger size of Sagats are called Tora.
