[Verse 1]
[C]If you have not noticed yet,
Silver [D]Season is a [C]listening album
and I really worked hard on
tracking the track listing
and the band and I worked hard on the
sonic textures
to make it feel like a movement,
like the music could be one big
piece of the bed
that just kind of holds
this whole idea
and all these ideas.
musically [B]and lyrically and
[D]So the song was par
[C]ticularly [C#]had
to be the closer [C]for me
because it kind of em[B]bodies this
message of at the end of
[C]The simplicity of what it kind of comes
down [B]to
and for me [C]it's kind of loving loving
those around me
with all [B]my heart and being a
part of that
and having [C]that experience [B]has been something
that's changed me forever
and [C]I think that it's [D]it's not hard to [C]love
and I think that it's it's alright to do
that
and to love those around us.
So it was meant to be a nice
[B]closer for the album
and a reward [C]for those [B]who sat
there and listened to it
and were able to be a part of that.
[C]So the[D] song is abo[C]ut a number of things,
but [C#]the Ragged Bone [C]Man
was traditionally someone from Europe,
I guess from the UK [B]originally,
where they coined the term,
[C]and the Rag and Bone Men
were people that would collect [D]things,
[C]goods that were other people's trash,
and sell them, rags and bones.
So I [D]feel like it's kind of a song that represents these [C]are the people
[C#]that are maybe [D]whom a lot of others see as the least [C]among us,
and they can look down
upon people like that.
But there's this idea to me
that at the end of the day
we are all people,
we are all doing things
[B]and we [C#]all have goals
and we all have feel[C]ings and emotions
and none of us is [B]less
and things like money and jobs
[C#]should not define [C]who anyone is
because we are all [B]people.
[D]And that is the [B]idea
that [C]at the end of the day
we should just share some
love
[B]rather than separation.
So [D]here's the Rag and Bone Man.
